Director: Kirshan-Baadal Cast: Payal Rohatgi, Sangram Singh, Rahul Minz
Valentine’s Night is a different kind of a movie which hankers on a breakup. A movie with a complex twist but still maintains the pace though second half is the best. Out of the actors present in the movie, Only Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh have put in a matured performance. Sangram has looked good with his overall screen persona even though his role is quite a controlled one in the movie. Valentine’s day is a movie which should be seen as a movie with a anti-date plot and show it to your love if you want them to know what are the possibilities after a breakup. Payal Rohatgi has put in a fine performance even though the role didn’t give her much of a scope to venture out. Sangram Singh has shown the signs of a good actor both in the first and the second half of the movie. The plot of the movie is most of the time as the name suggests in the night. Facebook becomes the connector between the different characters of the movie and a meetup turns into a story of murder, mystery and action. There are parallel story tracks in the movie and it keeps viewer’s mentally shuttling from one to another. Payal Rohatgi is the only recognizable face. Sangram singh has put in a very good effort for a first timer but his role seems to have been trimmed a lot on the editing table. Off screen couple Payal and Sangram have shown an excellent chemistry in the movie. The other two actors Rahul Minz and Jameel khan fail to impress. The item song of Rakhi Sawant is quite a dumb one with no remembrance value. The songs O re Bawara and Upload download are worth listening to. The voice over of the movie sounds like a sound from the sky introducing the lead characters on the facebook frontage. The direction by the duo of Krishan Baadal can be better though the first attempt is a good effort. Overall valentine’s night should be seen as a regular movie which is watchable once.
